🀝 Call Pickup

🧩 1. Introduction

The Call Pickup feature allows you to easily answer an incoming call that is ringing at a colleague’s phone.
This is especially useful within teams or departments where multiple phones may ring simultaneously.

With a simple shortcode, you can immediately take over a ringing call β€” whether it’s a random call, a call within a group, or one directed to a specific user.

☎️ 2. Types of Call Pickup

There are three ways to pick up a call:

πŸ”Ή 1. General Call Pickup

Shortcode: *8

➑️ This allows you to pick up any ringing call from a colleague.
Useful when you want to quickly assist with incoming calls without knowing exactly who is being called.

Example:
A colleague’s phone is ringing β†’ you dial *8 β†’ the call is immediately transferred to your phone.

πŸ”Ή 2. Group Pickup

Shortcode: *8{group number}

➑️ This lets you pick up a call within a specific call group.
The system automatically selects one of the ringing calls in that group.

Example:
Dial *812 β†’ you pick up a call that is ringing in call group 12.

πŸ”Ή 3. User Pickup

Shortcode: *8{user extension}

➑️ This allows you to pick up a call directed to a specific colleague, based on their internal extension number.

Example:
Your colleague with extension 203 is receiving a call β†’ you dial *8203 β†’ the call is transferred to your phone.

πŸ’‘ 3. Tips for Use

  • Call pickup only works for phones that are currently ringing.

  • The feature can be used on desk phones, the Qaller app, and WebCalls.
